Camping--Special Topic Essay
Camping is an activity that everyone can enjoy. It is a fun way to spend time outdoors and to have adventures.
The things that I like best about camping are having a campfire and telling stories. My family cooks marshmallows over the fire, and then we talk about funny things that happened when my parents were little. The things I don’t like about camping are having mosquitos and spiders attack me. I always have hundreds of itchy bites on my body.
Camping in tents is better than camping in a caravan because building a tent is more fun. Making the tent and sleeping on the ground are more difficult than sleeping in a bed in a caravan but that makes it more interesting. Caravans are bigger than tents and easier to use but I prefer tents.
My favourite camping trip was when we went to Boundary Waters. We had to use kayaks to move from one place to another. There were no cars. The area was very clean and beautiful. We ate food that we had to carry in our backpacks. It wasn’t very good. At night we could see the stars. They were amazing!
Next summer I’m going to go camping in Yellowstone National Park. I’m going to visit the famous geysers! I’m going to borrow my cousin’s new tent. It has an opening at the top so you can look at the stars. I’m going to go to Yellowstone with my family and my cousin Brad. It’s going to be a new adventure.
Camping may seem too difficult to some people but I think having an adventure on holiday is great. I want to camp every summer!
